The new Vietnamese Ambassador to the Principality of Monaco, Duong Chi Dung, presented his credentials to Monaco’s Prince Albert II on Feb. 12.

At the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Dung underlined that Vietnam ’s leaders and people always treasure Vietnam-Monaco relations, which have developed rapidly since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2007.

He said he hopes that both countries will continue to step up cooperation in every area for mutual benefit of people from both countries.

Dung used the opportunity to convey an invitation from President Truong Tan Sang to Prince Albert II to visit Vietnam .

Prince Albert II spoke of his sentiments towards Vietnam and its people and recalled memories of his 1997 trip to Vietnam . He praised Vietnam ’s achievements in national construction and development.

He also pledged to continue to strengthen relations and cooperation between both countries, particularly in the exchange of information, culture, tourism, oceanography and environmental protection.

Prince Albert II said he hopes to have the chance to visit Vietnam again soon.

As scheduled, Ambassador Dung held meetings with Monaco ’s Foreign Minister José Badia and other senior Monaco officials./.
