Vietnam won two silvers and six bronzes at the Southeast Asian Table Tennis Championships which wrapped up on October 15 in Vientiane, Laos.

The silver medal went to Dinh Quang Linh in the men's singles and another to Linh and My Trang in the mixed doubles.

Singapore topped the eight-nation event with five gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

In the tournament two years ago in the Philippines, Vietnam took the lead after bringing home five gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

In the previous events in 2004 and 2008, Vietnam regularly earned three gold medals.-VNA
