National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Haike Manning discussed joint preparations for the 40th anniversary celebration of diplomatic ties between the two countries during a meeting in Hanoi on September 11.

In order for the event to be successful, preparations would need to be carefully coordinated, including between the two law-making bodies, they agreed.

Phong spoke highly of the cooperation between the two parliaments and affirmed Vietnam’s continuous efforts to deepen its comprehensive partnership with New Zealand.

She said she was looking forward to boosting bilateral cooperation, organising exchange visits, sharing experience, and collaborating in inter-parliamentary forums.

Haike Manning pledged to undertake maximum efforts to strengthen the ties between the two law-making bodies and peoples, and increase support for the two countries’ long-term cooperation in the field of education.-VNA
