The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) kicked off a TV channel on June 21 as a practical celebration of the Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism Day.

Its name “V-News” has said it all, just news, making it the first of its kind so far in Vietnam.

During the test period from now till September 15, the channel run by the country’s only newswire service will cover domestic and international affairs, documentary films, columns and multimedia.

With almost 1,000 reporters and sub-editors present across the country and 27 bureaux over the world, VNA has set itself to broadcast latest news in all fields, political, economic, cultural and social.

The V-News is expected to air special programmes such as “Feedback”, “Breaking News” and “Reporters’ Prism” to well inform the public of contents that reject or correct fabrications, false information and schemes by hostile forces that run counter to the nation’s interests.

“Accurate and Fast” are what the V-News channel is following.

The channel is also set to cover burning socio-economic issues, good examples and experiences as well as outstanding problems that should be addressed.

Broadcasts will be aired from 18h to 21h at 140.25Mhz through the VCTV during the test period and the broadcasting hours will be expanded later on./.
