Vietnam News Agency’s staff awarded sport insignia
Eleven individuals, with some retired, of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and VNA’s Sports & Culture newspaper were presented the insignia “For the Cause of Sport” at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 28.
VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi speaks at the ceremony (Source: VNA)Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien handed over the honour to VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi, deputy general directors Nguyen Hoai Duong, Ngo Ha Thai, Le Duy Truyen, and Dinh Dang Quang, Editor-in-chief of the Sports & Culture newspaper Le Xuan Thanh, among others.
Speaking at the event, Loi spoke highly of the close cooperation between the VNA and the ministry, saying that this recorded a breakthrough development in recent years.
VNA’s news departments and publications have intensified the reporting on activities and achievements of the country’s sport sector, he stressed.
Loi also highlighted the strong development of the Sports & Culture newspaper, saying that the unit has diversified its publications though publishing both daily and weekly newspapers, and operating an online newspaper.
He hoped the sport sector will continue facilitating VNA reporters and editors’ operation in the coming time.
Deputy Minister Bien said that the complement aims to acknowledge the great contributions of VNA’s staff to the country’s sport development, expressing his hope that VNA’s managerial officials, reporters and editors will make more contributions in the time ahead.-VNA
