Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Off-road PVOIL Cup 2020 (PVOIL VOC 2020) will take place on September 26 - 27 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi’s Son Tay town, the event’s organising board has announced.
The annual event will attract a total of 80 teams with 160 drivers, competing in four categories of pick-up trucks, SUVs, advanced and open.
The event, which will be broadcast live on VTV Cab, FPT, and VTC Now, has a total prize of 300 million VND (13,000 USD) in cash and 100 million VND (4,300 USD) in kind.
The PVOIL VOC 2020 is the first off-road car race this year, so the expectations of athletes are very high. In just two days from the opening of the registration, nearly 100 teams completed the registration form and paid the participation fee. However, the organising board only maintains the size of 80 teams to ensure the best organisation, said the head of the organising board Nguyen Duc Hoang, general director of OTV Media.
According to Hoang, a number of protective measures are due to be implemented during the offroad event in an effort to ensure COVID-19 prevention and control./.
