Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga has visited and co-chaired the first Vietnam-Oman political consultation with her Omani counterpart Ahmed Bin Yusuf Al Harthy.

During her visit spanning from April 2-3, Nga paid a courtesy call to the ministers in charge of foreign affairs, human resources and finance, and the Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman.

During the meetings, the two sides briefed each other on the socio-economic and political situation in each country.

They expressed their delight at the growing bilateral ties, voicing their wish to further beef up the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics.

They agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, while encouraging businesses from both sides to strengthen their partnership by joining trade fairs and exhibitions.

They pledged to actively coordinate in implementing the agreements reached during the second meeting of the Joint Committee in Muscat earlier in January.

The two countries will also bolster collaboration in trade, oil and gas, investment, labour, tourism and seafood.

They also discussed world issues of mutual concern, committing to strengthening coordination at international forums.-VNA
