Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has hosted a cordial reception for Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Hanoi on July 22 on the sidelines of the 17 th ASEAN Regional Forum.
During the meeting, Deputy PM Hung stressed the need for both countries to implement the agreements reached at the 2 nd session of the Vietnam-Pakistan joint committee and other memoranda of understanding signed earlier to soon make the current friendship and cooperation between the two countries more comprehensive in the future.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi congratulated Vietnam for the success of the 17 th ARF. He expressed delight at the fine relations between Vietnam and Pakistan which he said have developed over the recent past, reflected through the bilateral visits at all levels as well as stepped up cooperation in national defence, trade and education.
He thanked Vietnam ’s support for Pakistan ’s efforts to increase its ties with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and said he believed his country’s relations with Vietnam as well as with ASEAN will continue to develop in the future./.
