The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) in coordination with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) held a workshop to prepare for the 6 th ASEAN Forum on Migrant Labour (AFML).

The preparatory meeting aims to share information on the progress and implementation of recommendations from the 3rd , 4th and 5th AFML in Vietnam, while it also discusses topics and the recommendations of the 6 th AFML which will be held in Brunei in November.

The meeting reviewed Vietnam’s advantages and difficulties faced during the progress and execution of the previous sessions’ proposals.

According to the MOLISA, Vietnam has focused on protecting and implementing the legitimate rights and interests of workers by improving its laws, performing its specific solutions and programmes.

AFML is an annual activity as part of the action programme of the ASEAN Committee on the Implementation of the ASEAN Declaration on the Promotion and the Protection of the Rights of Migrant Workers (ACMW).
