A steering committee will be set up to prepare for the World Economic Forum (WEF) on East Asia scheduled to be held in Vietnam next year under the Prime Minister’s decision.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is assigned to work with other concerned agencies to design duties and list members of the committee before submitting them to the PM for approval. Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai is said to lead the committee.

In addition to ASEAN Summit, the 1000 th founding anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi, WEF on East Asia 2010 is hoped to promote Vietnam’s image to the all over the world.

WEF on East Asia is organised annually to strengthen and expand economic and trade ties among countries in the region and between East Asia and other regions. The forum next year is expected to make a new step for reaching a consensus on development directions for economies in the post-crisis period./.
