Senator Jacques Oudin, former co-president of the top-level Council for Vietnamese-French Economic Development, has received the Vietnamese State’s Friendship Order for his great contributions to consolidating and developing the friendship between the two countries.

At the ceremony to present the award, held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Paris on October 7, the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Cao Viet Sinh, who was also a former co-president of the Council, pinned the order on the French Senator on his 70 th birthday (Oct. 7, 1939).

Born and raised up in central Da Nang city, Oudin has a special attachment to Vietnam . In the 1990s, he joined the France-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians’ Group and later became the groups president between 1998-2004.

With his prestige and enthusiasm, he has encouraged many French businesses to work with Vietnam and set up an association called “French and Vietnamese Friends”.

Speaking at the ceremony, Oudin promised to keep contributing to the friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries./.
