Vietnam and Qatar discussed concrete measures to intensify their multifaceted cooperation—particularly in politics-diplomacy, trade, investment, and labour—during the first political consultation held between the two foreign ministries in Hanoi on February 11.

At the event, Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam congratulated Qatar on its achievements and confirmed the value his nation places on their collaboration.

Qatari Foreign Minister’s Assistant Mohammed Bin Abdullah Bin Mutib Al Rumaihi said he was impressed with Vietnam’s rapid and extensive developments in recent years, adding that significant potential remains for the countries’ economic cooperation.

The two sides agreed to enhance delegation exchanges, especially at high levels, and continue close coordination at international forums.

They intend to increase contact between the two countries’ ministries, sectors and business communities to raise trade and implement cooperation agreements on investment, agriculture, labour, and human resources development.

Prior to the consultation, the Qatari Foreign Minister’s Assistant met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Planning and Investment.-VNA
