Vietnam lost 0-5 to powerhouse Indonesia in their second match of the Thomas Cup Preliminary Asia Zone on Feb. 24 in Nakhon Ratchasima , Thailand.

With two wins, the title favourites Indonesia will play Thailand in the next round while Vietnam , the group's runner-up, will face India on Feb. 25, who topped group C after victories over Thailand , Sri Lanka and Cambodia .
The loss was widely predicted as Indonesia are among the world's top badminton nations.

Even the presence of the world No 8, Nguyen Tien Minh, could not help Vietnam pick up a single win against Indonesia , who boast world No 4 Taufik Hydayat, No 11 Dwi Kuncoro Sony and No 12 Santoso Simon.
Minh, despite his best efforts, could not find a way to resist former Olympic champion Hydayat's dynamic, speedy volleys.

Vietnam 's top player quickly fell 15-21 in the first set and 11-21 in the second, although the score did not reflect how well he played.

Faced with Sony in the second match, it proved an impossible task for Vietnam 's Nguyen Hoang Nam , who does not have a world ranking. The inexperienced player was soundly beaten in 26 minutes, 12-21, 15-21.

His teammate Huynh Vinh suffered even more against Simon. He could not even make it to double figures in either set, trounced 6-21, 8-21.
In the doubles matches, Vietnamese duo Nam and Vinh could only resist the irresistible talents of Sukmawan Rian and Dasuki Yonathan for 14 minutes, losing 6-21, 16-21.

Earlier, their teammates Duong Bao Duc and Cao Duc Hieu were easily beaten 13-21, 13-21 by Kido Makis and Chandra Alvent Yulianto./.
