Vietnam bagged three more gold medals on the last competition day of the 17 th ASEAN University Games (AUG 17) in Indonesia on December 20.

The golds went to Pencak Silat artists Vu Duy Tu, in the men’s 55-kg division, and his team mates Nguyen Minh Nhut and Hoang Nghia Anh in the men’s 65-kg and 70-kg events, respectively.

On the day, additional silver medal was pocketed by Bui Thi Lan Huong in the women’s 65-kg category.

In total, the Vietnamese team won 27 golds, 15 silvers, and 4 bronzes, ranking fourth.

A closing ceremony of AUG 17 is to take place on the night of December 21 in Palembang .

The AUG is held every two years by the ASEAN countries in rotation. This year’s event features 20 sports with 225 sets of medals.

At the previous games in Laos, Vietnam ranked second with 56 gold, 35 silver and 28 bronze medals.-VNA
