Vietnam ranks third at int’l technology contest

The Vietnamese delegation finished third at the Intel International Science and Technology Fair (Intel ISEF), which took place from May 13-19 in Los Angeles, the United States.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamesedelegation finished third at the Intel International Science and TechnologyFair (Intel ISEF), which took place from May 13-19 in Los Angeles, the UnitedStates. 

The Ministry of Education and Training welcomedthe delegates home on May 24 in Hanoi.

The Vietnamese team bagged five awards,including third prize for a prosthetics arm project by Pham Huy, an 11th graderfrom a high school in the central province of Quang Tri. 

The others were four fourth prizes in systemsoftware, chemistry and embedded software. 

The Intel ISEF is the biggest internationalpre-college science competition, attracting some 1,800 high school studentsaround the world every year to compete in 22 categories.

Deputy PM demands full disbursement for sci-tech in 2026

As of May 12, total disbursed capital reached 7.95 trillion VND, equivalent to 14.78% of the Prime Minister’s plan. Of this, central budget disbursement hit 4.06 trillion VND, or 14.8% of the target, while local budget disbursement exceeded 3.88 trillion VND, or 14.75%.
