Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam reported 97 new local infections of COVID-19 in the past 12 hours to 6am on June 28, according to the Ministry of Health.

Among the newly-detected domestic infections, 62 were in Ho Chi Minh City, ten in Phu Yen, nine in Nghe An, six in Long An, and four in Bac Ninh, and two each in Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang. Ninety-four of the cases were recorded in quarantine sites or sealed off areas.

The new cases brought the national tally to 15,740, with 1,769 imported and 13,971 locally transmitted ones. 

Among the patients being under treatment, 370 have tested negative once for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 that causes the disease, 125 twice, and 152 thrice. The death toll was 76.

As of 4pm on June 27, over 3.38 million vaccine doses had been injected. The number of people getting two shots was 157,136.

Fourteen localities have gone 14 days without new infections and ten localities have recorded no new secondary infections./.
