Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam recorded 4,899 infections of COVID-19, including 10 imported cases, on October 29, according to the Ministry of Health.
Ho Chi Minh City recorded the highest number of infections with 977, followed by neighbouring provinces of Dong Nai and Binh Duong each with 697.
The national tally now stands at 910,376.
According to the Ministry of Health’s report, 2,990 patients nationwide are in serious conditions, with 312 requiring invasive ventilation and 19 on life support (ECMO).
On the day, the country saw 56 deaths from the disease. The death toll now hits 21,966.
A further 2,169 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 816,132.
By October 29, the country had injected over 78.90 million doses of vaccines to date, with more than 23.36 million people now fully inoculated./.
