Seoul (VNA) – Vietnamese Minister ofHealth Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and Korean Minister of Health and Welfare ParkNeung-hoo held talks and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) onbilateral cooperation in Seoul on March 14.
Tien said Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK)have seen cooperation between their hospitals and medical schools for manyyears.
Vietnam wants to partner with the RoK intraining for medical profession certification, building a financial mechanismfor the health sector, including health insurance, and improving public health,she added.
The signing of the new MoU is essential for thetwo sides to discuss specific and most feasible cooperation in the field, shenoted.
Park said the acceptance of each other’s medicalprofession certification should be considered despite differences in their trainingcurricula.
He said the RoK is willing to share informationwith Vietnam on health insurance and public health improvement. The two sidescould also collaborate in producing medicine, the Korean minister suggested.
