A seminar seeking measures to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea in developing the law on intellectual property was held in Hanoi on June 10.

Speaking at the event, People’s Supreme Court Vice Chief Judge Tuong Duy Luong reviewed the considerable development in the ties between his agency and its RoK counterpart, and the Korea International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam.

He said assistance provided by the RoK side in the field helps Vietnam reform its judicial system.

Luong also underlined the significance of the event in forging links between the two countries, especially in judiciary development, thus fostering their strategic cooperation partnership.

Park Sam Bong, Director of the RoK’s Judicial Research and Training Institute praised Vietnam’s efforts in reaching a strong economic growth in the context of the world’s economic downturn, as well as in reinforcing its judicial system.

He stressed both sides must share their experience in developing strong intellectual property laws at the seminar.

At the event, Vietnamese and RoK participants analysed the reality of the law on intellectual property in their countries, while discussing measures and orientations to speed up the development of the field in the future.-VNA
