About 80 tourism businesses and travel agencies from Vietnam and Republic of Korea (RoK) participated in a seminar on RoK culture and tourism held in Ho Chi Minh City on July 3.

At the seminar, participants discussed tourism similarities between Vietnam and the RoK as well as ways to promote Vietnamese tourism in the RoK market.

According to La Quoc Khanh, Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Tourism, the seminar helped boost culture and tourism links between the two countries.

He added that the number of RoK tourists to the city increased 17 percent in the first six months of this year.

There are 100 flights between the two countries each week.

Vietnam welcomed about 833,000 tourists from the RoK last year.-VNA
