The Vietnamese and Russian parliaments will actively implement signed agreements, maintain all-level delegation exchanges and experience sharing while enhancing close collaboration at regional and international conferences.

The two sides reached the consensus during talks between National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu and visiting First Vice Chairman of the Russian State Duma Ivan Melnikov on December 23 in Hanoi .

Both sides acknowledged that cooperation between the two legislatures has been continuously consolidated and developed over recent time, contributing to cementing the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

They also agreed to further strengthen their friendship and cooperation and create favourable conditions for Vietnamese and Russian businesses to promote trade and investment.

Luu affirmed that Vietnam always attaches significance to its comprehensive partnership with Russia and considers the country the most important partner in its diplomatic policies.
 
The Russian guest hailed achievements Vietnam has recorded in the national renewal, industrialisation and modernisation.

Regarding the Vietnam-Russia relationship, the two leaders agreed to continue strengthening cooperation in such areas as oil and gas, nuclear power, trade and investment, security and defence, scicence and technology, training, culture, tourism and labour cooperation, among others.-VNA
