The Vietnamese Government Inspectorate led by Inspector General Huynh Phong Tranh on April 14 started a working visit to Moscow to exchange experience in anti-corruption.
While visiting the Russian capital, the Vietnamese delegation will study the coordination mechanism of relevant Russian agencies and negotiate with officials from the Anti-Corruption Department of the country’ Presidential Executive Office on the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on upping bilateral cooperation in the field.
Earlier the same day, the Vietnamese guests worked with First Deputy Prosecutor General Aleksander Buksman who hailed the cooperative ties between the two countries.
Tranh informed the host of the inspection work in Vietnam , and had in-depth discussion to push anti-corruption work together.
During the visit, the Vietnamese officials are scheduled to hold talks with Russia ’s Audit Agency and Supreme Court.
In 2013, the Vietnamese inspectors uncovered 45 corruption cases involving 99 suspects and 354 billion VND. More than 229 billion VND was reclaimed while 10 collectives and 104 individuals were fined for their corrupt acts. At the same time, 26 cases and 39 suspects were transferred to investigation agencies.-VNA
