Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his hope that Vietnam and Serbia will foster their economic and trade ties in the time ahead.

While receiving newly-accredited Serbian Ambassador Slobodan Marinkovic in Hanoi on November 10, the PM suggested the two sides organise business forums in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to help their enterprises seek partners.

The leader said he hopes that the ambassador will take measures to contribute to raising the bilateral trade.

Vietnamese people always consider Serbians as their brothers and sisters, he affirmed.

In reply, Slobodan Marinkovic said he has been assigned by the Serbian PM to expand cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador promised to make all-out efforts to step up the bilateral collaboration in such areas as economy, trade, investment and education.

Many Serbian businesses have expressed their wish to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam, he said, committing to connecting the two countries’ enterprises with each other.-VNA
