Tran Viet Van, a reporter of the Lao Dong (Labour) daily newspaper, has won a first prize at the second International Online Digital Photo Competition held in Cyprus.

Van took the public voting title for his photo named “Sand Story 4” in the environment category.

In addition, Van’s “The Lines” was voted second by the public in the open event at the competition, which was organised by the Cyprus Photographic Society.

“Sand Story 4” had earlier brought home a second prize in the environment event of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM)’s photo contest.

Another Vietnamese photographer, Nguyen Xuan Thanh also secured a first prize for his photo named “Werewolf” in the public voting’s open category of the Cyprus competition.

The competition drew 7,407 entries from 114 countries and territories across the world.

Most of the top prizes awarded by the International Panel of Judges went to photographers from Slovenia , the US , India and Myanmar .

The most outstanding photos will be displayed at the Nicosia Cultural Centre as of May 18./.
