Two-way trade between Vietnam and Singapore in 2013 hit 13.11 billion USD, up 10.7 percent year on year, according to the Singapore Statistics Department.

The figure included Vietnam’s export value of 3 billion USD, a rise of 36.3 percent, and its import of 10.74 billion USD, up 5.1 percent, from Singapore.

Vietnam mainly ships to Singapore machineries, equipment and spare parts (477 million USD), telephone and components (468 million USD), and crude oil (295 million USD).

Meanwhile, the country imports gas and petroleum products (1.78 billion USD) from Singapore, besides machineries, equipment, spare parts, publications and printing products.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, two-way trade between the two countries is likely to rise in 2014 with Vietnam’s exports continuing to surge.-VNA
