Chief Judge of the Slovakian Supreme Court Stefan Harabin has stated that the training of court personnel between Vietnam and Slovakia will continue smoothly.
He was received in Hanoi on June 3 by President Truong Tan Sang during his working visit to Vietnam.
President Sang, for his part, expressed his belief that the two countries’ court sectors will press ahead with their productive partnership.
He highly valued Slovakia’s consistent support at various forums, reasserting the country’s foreign policy of placing importance on its affiliation with traditional friends.
Sang stated that judicial reforms are underway so experience from countries with established justice sectors will be useful both theoretically and practically.
Chief Judge Harabin said his country prioritised its relations with Vietnam, evidenced by the resumption of its embassy’s operations in the country after a long period of interruption.
He elaborated that in tandem with economic renewal achievements, there were good changes in procedural and judicial activities, in particular the revised Constitution that was adopted in 2013.
The Slovakian official showed his admiration for the Vietnamese nation’s bravery demonstrated in the past as well as its current protection of sovereignty.
He said he himself will talk directly to his Prime Minister on measures to concretise agreements reached during his working visit to Vietnam, including possible provision of ODA for Vietnam’s judicial sector.-VNA
