Leading officials of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Spanish Parliament have pledged to do their best to unceasingly push up the cooperation and friendship between the two countries, and to intensify the exchange of experience in law-building and supervision activities.

During a September 9 meeting in Madrid, NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, First Vice President of the Congress of Deputies Celia Villalobos and Vice President of the Senate Juan Jose Lucas also agreed that the two sides will continue the mechanisms of consultation and coordination at multilateral forums like the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary for Partnership for peace, national independence and social progress.

Vice Chairwoman Ngan, who is also a Party Politburo member, is now on a working visit to Spain from September 7-11.

Vietnam attaches importance to the strategic partnership with Spain , she said, proposing that the two sides continue the exchange of delegations and maintain political contacts.

The official expressed her hope that Spain will help accelerate the FTA negotiations between Vietnam and the European Union, and that Spanish enterprises will explore chances of long-term cooperation and investment in Vietnam, especially in the fields of culture and tourism.-VNA
