Vietnam, Spain see trade surge

Two-way trade between Vietnam and Spain hit more than 533 million EUR in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 9.23 percent, statistics from Spain’s customs has shown.
Two-way trade between Vietnam and Spain hit more than 533 million EUR in the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year increase of 9.23 percent, statistics from Spain’s customs has shown.

In the reviewed period, Vietnam earned over 477 million EUR from exports to Spain and imported 55.91 million EUR worth of commodities from this European country, up 9.46 and 7.31 percent respectively.

Vietnam mainly ships machinery, electricity equipment, footwear and accessories, coffee, garments and aquatic products to Spain while buying airplanes and their parts, seafood, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and animal feed from this market.

Two-way trade between the two countries has seen constant growth since it hit one billion EUR in 2008. It surpassed 2 billion EUR for the first time last year.-VNA
