A 3-0 victory was awarded to Vietnam's women's football team after the Iran team withdrew from the match due to a FIFA rule stating that no football player can appear in matches wearing headwear.

The Vietnam team is scheduled to play Iran in the first match of the second qualifying round for the 2012 London Olympics in Jordan on June 5; however, the Iran team withdrew.

As a result, Vietnam will now only play three matches against Jordan , Uzbekistan and Thailand . They will meet the hosts Jordan on June 7, Uzbekistan on June 10, and Thailand on June 12.

The earlier match between Iran and host Jordan was also cancelled for the same reason, giving Jordan a 3-0 win.

Vietnam still has a chance to advance to the third round as it is the highest ranked team among the four.

Coach Chen Yun Fat said Thailand is still the most worrisome rival out of the four in this qualifier, even though Vietnam beat Thailand 2-1 in the first qualifying round.

The winner of this round will join Japan , China , the DPR of Korea , the Republic Korea and Australia for the final qualification round on September 1-11.

The six teams will play a one-round league format. The top two teams in the final round of qualifiers will represent Asia at the 2012 London Olympics./.
