“Mua lu” (Flood season) by photographer Ngo Viet Ngoc won a gold medal at an international photo contest in Vietnam, VN-09.

Vietnam also took one silver, five bronze medals and six honourary certificates at the fifth International Contest and Exhibition on Artistic Photos.

The contest attracted the largest ever number of 8,545 photos by 1,275 photographers from 44 countries and territories, of which 6,403 entries were by Vietnamese authors, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) announced on Aug. 22.

The oganising board, including the MCST and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, had chosen 32 out of 342 exhibited works to grant two golds, four silvers, six bronzes and 20 honourary certificates./.
