Vietnam has showcased its handicraft items, garments, traditional products and special food at the Bazar-2009 fair in Cuba ’s capital city of Havana.

The fair, organised by ambassadresses and ambassadors’ wives in Cuba , opened on November 28, drawing the participation of more than 30 representative offices from several countries.

Vietnam ’s booth has attracted a great attention from Havana people as well as international visitors thanks to the diversification and abundance of its displayed products. Visitors seemed to be very interested in traditional long dress (ao dai), lacquer wares and embroidery pictures which are said to be imbued with Vietnam ’s cultural identity. Thousands of visitors have dropped in Vietnam ’s booth and they even had to queue up for Nem (Vietnamese meat roll). “I go to the fair every year and visit your booth, just to enjoy the special dish and buy some for my relatives,” Julia Mendez told Vietnam news agency reporter.

Besides Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, India and a number of Asian, European, African and Latin American countries participated in the event./.
