Vietnam, Thailand cooperate on e-commerce application

According to Do Kim Lang, Deputy Headof the Department of Trade Promotion (DTP), the Vietnamese websitebuyvietnam.com.vn, which counts over 300 businesses amongst its members,brings a number of benefits to domestic businesses, helping themintroduce their products and investment projects.

Lang said inorder to meet the increasing demand for the application of IT ande-commerce to promoting trade, seeking partners and expanding markets,his agency teamed up with the ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) to launch thiswebsite.

The DTP also seeks to establish partnerships withforeign trade promotion organisations with the aim of creating morebusiness and investment opportunities for enterprises.

The linksbetween “buyvietnam.com.vn” and “Thaitrade.com” of Thailand areconsidered a great opportunity for the two countries’ business circlesto forge partnerships, Lang said.

Suwipan Thisyamondol, DeputyHead of Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP)highlighted that the “Thaitrade.com” website was one of the mosteffective measures to boost Thailand’s trade and integration efforts byapplying modern technologies.

He added that all firmsparticipating in the website were prestigious businesses, so they wouldbe reliable partners for Vietnamese companies.

On the occasion,the DPT and DITP signed a cooperation agreement on fostering tradepromotion between the two countries in order to benefit businesses onboth sides in the near future.-VNA
