Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu has proposed holding more exchanges between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Thailand, thus enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

At a September 12 reception for a delegation from the Senate of Thailand, led by the Committee on Justice and Police Affairs’ Chief of Justice Affairs of the Committee Advisors, Samack Chouvaparnante, Vice Chairman Luu voiced his pleasure at the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation relations between the two countries.

He urged both sides to enhance coordination at multilateral forums, and foster the comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, legislatures and peoples.

Further cooperation between the two legislatures was also requested to foster and monitor the realisation of agreements reached by the two Governments earlier to effectively benefit both countries.

The official called upon Thai senators to raise their voice and hold specific activities to assist the Vietnamese expatriate community in seeking stable legal position for smooth integration into the Thai society.

For his part, the Thai senator expressed his hope for a closer cooperative relationship between the two legislative bodies, strengthening Vietnam-Thailand friendship and cooperation ties.

Thailand always creates every possible condition for the Vietnamese community to live and integrate into society and actively contribute to the development of Thailand , he said.

Chouvaparnante also voiced his desire for more experience exchanges between the two legislatures, and expanding cooperation relations between Thailand and Vietnam.-VNA
