Vietnam's U-14 girls' football team made short work of their opening match against Cambodia after thrashing the opponent 8-0 in totally one-sided match at the Asian Football Confederation U14 Girls Regional Championship.

With superiority in physical strength and size, Vietnamese players quickly exerted their authority and translated their possession into goals.

Striker Tran Thi Hai Linh scored a hat trick and her partner Nguyen Thi Thu Hien snatched a double to help the hosts lead 5-0 at half time as the match kicked off at Thong Nhat Stadium in a lovely weather condition in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam continued dominating the match, which is played on a size-reduced pitch in two periods of 35 minutes apiece, after the break and Linh scored her fourth and fifth goals one each side of the substitute Dao Thi Hien's goal to complete the rout.
