Vietnam to actively contribute to 18th Shangri-La Dialogue: officer

At a reception for Tim Huxley, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Asia in Singapore, in Hanoi on May 16, Vinh reaffirmed that Vietnamese Defence Minister Gen. Ngo Xuan Lich will attend the event.
For his part, Tim Huxley briefed his host on the programmes and topics of the upcoming 2019 Shangri-La Dialogue.
He lauded Vietnam’s role and thanked the country for supporting the dialogue, contributing to its success over the years.
Vinh spoke highly of the significance of the Shangri-La Dialogue, as well as topics to be discussed during this year’s event, noting his hope that it will continue to contribute to development in the Asia-Pacific.–VNA
