Hanoi (VNA) – Tim Huxley, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)–Asia in Singapore, has urged Vietnam to send a high-ranking military delegation to the 2018 Shangri-La Dialogue and deliver a speech at the event slated for June in Singapore.

At a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh in Hanoi on May 9, Tim Huxley informed his host about major programmes and topics of the 2018 Shangri-La Dialogue.

He used the occasion to applaud Vietnam’s role and support for the Dialogue through years.

For his part, Vinh affirmed that Vietnam always supports and will constructively contribute to the upcoming 2018 Shangri-La Dialogue.

Vietnam highly values the role played by the Shangri-La Dialogue as well as topics to be discussed at the 2018 event, he said.-VNA
