Vietnam will take part in the ASEAN Civil Society Conference/ASEAN People Forum 2013 which is slated for April 6-8 in Brunei.
The announcement was made at a press briefing jointly held on March 29 in Hanoi by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) and Thoi Dai (Era) newspaper.
The regional forum, themed “ASEAN: Building our future together”, will be hosted by the Council of Women of Brunei Darussalam with support from the country’s Civil Society Organisations, said VUFO General Secretary Nguyen Thi Hoang Van.
The objective of the event is to foster solidarity and unity via voices, concerns, expectations, and recommendations made by ASEAN civil societies and people to reach the goal of establishing an ASEAN Community by 2015.
Discussions at the three day forum will focus on three main pillars of sustainable development namely economics, society and environment.-VNA
