Vietnam will host the 7 th Ministerial Meeting on Youth of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (AMMY VII), the Vietnam National Committee on Youth (VNCY) announced on Oct. 17.
Ministers and senior officials on youth affairs and youth delegations from 10 member countries of ASEAN and three northeastern Asian countries- China , the Republic of Korea and Japan- will attend the event.
This is the first time Vietnam has hosted the biannual AMMY, through the cooperation between VNCY and the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The meeting is an importance occasion for ASEAN’s youth ministers to discuss the issues relating to development and cooperation of youth in the region as well as seek solutions for promoting the role of youth in building the ASEAN Community by 2015.
In the framework of the 7 th AMMY, a series of other relevant events such as the third ASEAN Plus Three Ministerial Meeting on Youth (AMMY+3), the Preparatory Senior Officials Meeting for AMMY, the ASEAN+3 Youth Caucus and an ASEAN culture night will also be held./.
