Vietnam plans to host a series of investment forums in the US this year to attract more foreign investors, said the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

The event is expected to take place in New York and some other economic hubs of the US in the third and fourth quarters of this year.

The VCCI is assigned to finalise the plan and to work with the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the organisation of the event.

The US has become one of the 10 largest foreign investors in Vietnam over recent years. In the first four months of this year, the US took the lead among them with 3.8 billion USD, making up 50 percent of total foreign direct investment in Vietnam, according to the MPI./.
