Cambodia to compete at the BIDC Cup 2009.
The tournament, hosted by BIDC, an affiliate of the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), will take place at the Cambodian National Stadium from Nov. 8-14.
The event, initiated by BIDV, is to consolidate and enhance friendship, unity and comprehensive cooperation between the three countries.
It will also serve to celebrate Cambodia’s 56th Independence Day (Nov. 9), the 25th Sea Games in Laos and the establishment of the Bank for Investment and Development of Cambodia (BIDC) in Phnom Penh in August.
Four teams will play in a round-robin format. The two highest scorers will compete in the final match. The rest will play for third place.
According to BIDC General Director Nguyen Van Hien, co-organiser, the champion will pocket 20,000 USD, and the runner-up and third place winners will receive 10,000 USD and 5,000 USD, respectively./.
