Vietnam scooped six more golds by 5:00 p.m (local time) on Dec. 12, continuing to top the medal tables at the 25 th ongoing Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 25) in Laos.

Duo Do Hoang Quan and Luong Chi Dung beat rivals from Indonesia 7-5 in the men’s doubles 9-ball pool event to bag the first gold medal on the 4 th competition day.

In the 1-band carom final, Dang Dinh Tien surpassed his countryman Cao Thanh Truc with a 100-72 score to grab the gold.

Karate artist Vu Thi Nguyet Anh took a gold in the women’s kumite 50-kg event after defeating her Indonesian competitor, while another gold of Vietnam was secured in the men’s team kumite event.

In the men’s 77-kg weightlifting final, Duong Thanh Truc vanquished his Indonesian rival, while Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan unexpectedly snatched a gold medal in the women’s 69-kg weightlifting event.

In total, Vietnam has taken 20 gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze medals since SEA Games kicked off.

Thailand temporarily ranks second on the medal tally, with 18 golds, 23 silvers and 27 bronzes./.
