Vietnam attaches importance to developing solidarity and multi-faceted cooperation with Mozambique for the benefit of the two peoples and for peace, cooperation and development in Southeast Asia, the southern region of Africa and the world at large.

Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), made the statement while receiving a delegation from the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique (FRELIMO) led by Director of the FRELIMO Central Party School Arlindo Chilundo in Hanoi on November 18.

Sang welcomed the FRELIMO Party delegation’s visit, describing it as a manifestation of the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two peoples.

He congratulated the Mozambican people on their record of achievements under the leadership of the ruling party FRELIMO and praised the county’s efforts to consolidate peace, political stability, economic development and poverty reduction as well as increase its role in the region.

Sang also expressed his belief that Mozambique will harvest greater achievements in its national construction and development in future.

For his part, the Mozambican guest praised Vietnam’s struggles for national independence in the past as well as its current national development. He also spoke highly of the country’s achievements and experiences during its process of renewal and regional and international integration.

He affirmed that Mozambique wishes to further its solidarity, friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with the Party, State and people of Vietnam, especially in personnel training./.
