Ukrainian Deputy Prosecutor General Anatoli Prisko has affirmed his determination to further enhance the two countries’ judicial cooperation.

Prisko made the affirmation at a reception given by National Assembly Deputy Chairman Uong Chu Luu in Hanoi on April 18.

NA Deputy Chairman Luu said that both Vietnam and Ukraine have granted each other favoured nation status and have plans to develop bilateral ties in defence, nuclear energy, industry and agriculture.

He said he hoped the Ukrainian Government would continue supporting Vietnam’s development and international integration efforts.

The Supreme People’s Procuracy of Vietnam (SPPV), an important agency in Vietnam’s criminal justice system and a leading one in the nation’s judicial reform, should further promote cooperation with the General Procuracy of Ukraine, Luu said.

Prisko said that his delegation agreed with the SPPV, during the talks, on the training of procurators at the Ukrainian Procuracy Institute and the exchange of expert and high-ranking delegations and law-building expertise.

The two sides reached unanimity in providing judicial mutual assistance in fighting international crimes and increasing consultation on international forums, he said.

While in Vietnam from April 17-22, the Ukrainian delegation held working sessions with the Hanoi and Khanh Hoa provincial Procuracy and toured President Ho Chi Minh’s relics site, the Temple of Literature and other scenic sites./.
