Vietnam unveils its first pipe coating factory

A pipe coating factory, the first of its kind in the country, run by the PetroVietnam Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (PVID) under the National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), was officially inaugurated on July 15.

The factory, located in Phu My 1 Industrial Zone in the southernprovince of Ba Ria-Vung Tau , will help PetroVietnam save on thecosts of hiring foreign firms to coat its gas and oil pipelines, andcreate numerous jobs for locals.

Work on the517-billion-VND factory started last August.

PVIDsaid that the factory will coat pipelines taking gas from the White SeaLion, White Rhino and White Tiger oil fields ashore./.

Vietnam Airlines Group offers nearly 2.2 million discounted domestic seats

Vietnam Airlines Group, comprising Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), will provide nearly 5.5 million seats on domestic routes from now until August 16 to meet peak summer travel demand, including around 2.2 million seats offered at promotional fares on various routes.
