Vietnam jumped a place from last month to 152nd in the September FIFA rankings.
The national team beat Chinese Taipei 2-1 in the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifiers on September 8 to edge up the rankings.
Vietnam are third in the Southeast Asian region, behind the Philippines (No 125) and Thailand (No 137).
Argentina top the table, followed by Belgium and Germany.-VNA
