Hanoi (VNA) - President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations Nguyen Phuong Nga had a working session with US Ambassador to Vietnam Daniel J. Kritenbrink in Hanoi on May 8.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a cooperation plan between the US Embassy in Vietnam and the VUFO in organising activities towards the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-US diplomatic ties (July 12, 1995 - 2020).

They highly valued effective coordination between the two countries in the COVID-19 fight, and confirmed to closely work in arranging activities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the diplomatic ties, contributing to further promoting the Vietnam – US comprehensive partnership and the friendship between the two countries' people.

Kritenbrink congratulated Vietnam on its initial success in the fight against COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Nga expressed her delight at the bilateral relations' development, and affirmed that the VUFO will coordinate with the US embassy in upcoming anniversary events.

She wished the US people soon overcome difficulties caused by the pandemic./.
