Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has affirmed that Vietnam treasures the cooperation with France and the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) as well as with its members.

Meeting French Minister for la Francophonie Yamina Benguigui in Hanoi on February 7, Doan further said Vietnam is an active and responsible member of the OIF.

Expressing her delight at the developing traditional friendship and all-round cooperation between Vietnam and France, Doan said that she highly valued the role of France, a key economic partner and ODA provider for Vietnam in the Europe .

She suggested that both countries further promote their effective cooperation in culture and education, and work closely together to celebrate the 40 years of their diplomatic ties in 2013.

Benguigui expressed pleasure at the fruitful development of France-Vietnam ties over the past 40 years, and voiced the French government’s determination to maintain ODA for Vietnam .

She affirmed that France is pushing up its plan to upgrade the Hanoi University of Science and Technology into an international level.-VNA
