He made the statement while receiving Robert Kaproth, US DeputyAssistant Secretary of the Treasury for Asia, in Hanoi on September 10.
Binh took the occasion to express his delight at the developmentof the Vietnam – US comprehensive partnership in all fields towardeffectiveness and practical outcomes. The Party official affirmed Vietnam attachesimportance to and wants to further strengthening the ties with the US, which isone of the leading partners of Vietnam.
He made it clear that the Vietnamese Party and Governmentpay attention to reinforcing economic and trade collaboration with the US,creating favourable conditions for US investors in Vietnam, and facilitating jointprojects with US enterprises.
For his part, Kaproth told his host about a number ofpriorities in his country’s economic policy and bilateral cooperation withVietnam.
Welcoming the US’s ideas for regional collaboration, Binhsaid now is a favourable time for the two nations to boost quality investmentin the sectors of energy, science-technology, and infrastructure. He noted suchcooperation will help increase the US’s investment in Vietnam and improve theirtrade balance.-VNA
