The plan not only helps Vietnam in selling the products but also transfer of technology and expertise, he said while receiving Walmart Executive Vice President of Global Sourcing Bill Fouldy in Hanoi on January 7.

Ninh added that the Vietnamese goods are now available in 200 countries and territories worldwide. As of November 2013, Vietnam was the 23rd biggest exporters to the US, proving that its commodities hold appeal to foreign countries, even choosy markets like the US and Europe.

The host expressed his hope that Walmart will back Vietnam during the negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership and free trade agreements with countries worldwide.

Fouldy informed his host of Walmart’s plan to open an outlet in Vietnam in the coming time.

He said the group’s purchase of Vietnamese goods will push forward the Vietnam – US cooperation, in the spirit of their existing comprehensive partnership.-VNA
