Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan has affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always welcomes and creates favourable conditions for Japanese enterprises, including those from Nara Perfecture, to invest in Vietnam.
During her reception for Nara Governor Shogo Arai in Hanoi on August 26, the Vice President Doan thanked the Japanese Government and people for their support for Vietnam during its national construction and development.
She said she is delighted at the strong and comprehensive development of the strategic partnership between the two countries in recent time, adding that Japan is now the country’s biggest investor and official development assistance (ODA) provider as well as its third largest bilateral trade partner.
Doan affirmed that cooperation between the two countries’ localities has also seen increasing development, especially that between Nara and Vietnam ’s northern province of Phu Tho .
She said she hopes the two localities will further boost cooperation in the fields of education, high-tech agricultural production, and preservation of cultural values.
Shogo Arai agreed with the Vice President on the need to preserve the cultural values of both countries while promoting socio-economic development and human resources training.
He affirmed that Nara will work closer with Phu Tho in the coming time in oder to contribute to the two localities’ development and further enhance the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership.
The same day, the Japanese guest was also received by Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, who stressed that Vietnam wants to further boost cooperation with Japan in various field, especially in workforce training and infrastructure development.
He stressed that the Vietnamese Government and people highly value the Japanese side for its support for Vietnam through ODA provision, which contributes to the country’s socio-economic development.
Shogo Arai informed his host that his delegation visited and worked with several localities of Vietnam , including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Tho province. The governor expressed his belief that cooperation between Nara and Vietnamese localities will practically contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership.-VNA
